The Devil
The Devil's always with me
each day that I go through.
He's always trying to get me
to do things I shouldn't do.
He goes with me out on the job
to do my work each day.
He tries to overcome me
when I neglect to pray.
He goes to bed with me each night
arises width me each morn.
He'll always be here in this life
till Gabriel blows his horn.
On Sundays when I go to church
he enters at my side.
He's just one step behind me
as down the aisle i glide.
The Devil's always seeking
one whom he may devour.
I know he's present with me now
at this very hour.
The Devil's like a sly old fox
I do not take him lightly.
I just take Jesus by the hand
and hold on ever tightly.
