The Day After Tomorrow
I’ll be happy the day after tomorrow -
I will promise it solemnly to myself.
There will be no bitter tears and sorrow -
The blissful thought excites me and holds my breath...
I’ll get up before sunrise and leave my bed
To stand at dawn in the dark, silent city.
“Brother, open your window and raise your head!
Let’s seize this day – its freshness and clarity!”
And I will be waiting for a special sign
Not to overlook any new chance for me.
“Brother, prepare a glass of the best wine
To celebrate this morning – hopeful and free.”
I’ll be happy the day after tomorrow.
I’m sure - this day will come to my rescue.
I have only to forget today’s sorrow
And to dry tears on my wet tissue...
