The Day After - Black Cloud

I don’t know how to write this poem;
I’m nauseous and depressed.
Instead of moving forward,
Seems this country has regressed.

I’m fearful for the future
And I shudder at the thought
Of a leader whose demeanor
Such divisiveness has wrought.

There’s a black cloud that’s descended,
Filling half of us with dread
But we have to keep our strength up
For the battles still ahead.

There seems a sense of hopeless dread as we now face the facts. That in this world of senselessness, we're now under attack. Hi Ilene, I have had some issues beyond my own control. There just aren't enough tissues to satisfy my soul. :) Hope to visit more soon.

Hey Robert! So good to see you back here! I'm still very bummed out about the election ("hopeless dread" is correct) but there's nothing to do about it but wait and see how it plays out...

Yes, please keep your hopes up. This is going to be a challenge. It's unfortunate that the Donald could make more of a connection to a path to electoral victory than our candidate. She was, unfortunately, plagued by scandal. Instead of developing solar and wind energy, we invaded Iraq; and she voted for that. She appears to have raised a lot of money for her foundation while secretary of state. People understood these things represent the status quo. It's the quid pro quo model.

It's a decision I can't quite understand. Here on the other side of the world he looks a complete imbecile. Maybe the power of celebrity has more influence in this world than power of common sense.

Well done Ilene. Yes, we must keep our strength up and never give up.
