The Darkness Is a Comfort

The darkness is a comfort -
        Where no one will know.
The darkness is a comfort -
        A place to hide and to grow.
The darkness is a comfort -
        A place that’s secretive.
The darkness is a comfort -
        It is the place where I live.
The darkness is a comfort -
        Solace when I cry.
The darkness is a comfort -
        Where I grow old and I die.
