The Darkness

The darkness surrounds me
I don’t know how it found me
It has been a cloak on my soul
For some time
It haunts me, it fills me
Now I’m afraid of the light
The darkness, it needs me
It feeds me, it’s all I have in my life
I’m wrapped up in chains
I’m a slave to the feeling
How can I be in love with pain?
The darkness, it keeps me
I don’t know if I want to be free
The sight of light blinds me
It confuses me, it burns me
I am bound to the darkness
Like saints are bound to pray
On their knees
Like leaves are bound to die without trees
My soul is bound to the darkness
I will never leave
