The Dark Veil

I slipped into depression
I never thought I would
As I really liked to mingle
At every chance I could

But the beast it got me
When I was off my guard
Stopped me my life from living
That hit me very hard

The tears my cheeks would water
Without a single thought
To go to do my shopping
Would make my body taut

My breathing started racing
And my heart to pump so fast
That I thought that I was dying
And the next breath would be my last

Then I started talking
Found out I was not alone
There are thousands of us out there
Afraid to leave our homes

So if you feel like I did
Please do not give up hope
There is a life after depression
And sharing will help you cope
