The Dark Teacher

Eyes pried to learn through sight
Lips sealed to silence spite
Doors closed from everyone
This is the light without the sun

The angry child will come of age
In bitterness he counts his days
Through memories he feeds the rage
This man was built in disarray

The fallen son exists in death
In emptiness he finds regret
Through pain he finds he must not forget
He crawls away to catch his breath

The lone man exists for peace
In silence he holds the keys
Through self he sees eternity
But the black hole within can not be free

The wise man will let it go
In solitude he’s learnt to grow
Through loneliness he finds the flow
The debt is paid, but he’ll always know

Dark days and disrepair
The end to life is without care
The door will open if we wait
Without the sun there’s still our faith
