The Dark Night

The dark of night brings sharp things to mind I must search for peace, to find Visions re-played that I can’t avoid now A part of life, I must accept somehow Images and fear, return from long ago, new With the dark from places I suffered, but flew --- Away, away --- From all the ruins left behind in the dust Always knowing that survival is a must Old days cannot be replaced with light Those days erased, swept away with fright It has been years of work to be safe and content Holding onto the blessings that were sent To make me see, I can create the life I want Even with every piece of trauma that daunts Heidi Sands 9/22/17

Hola Heidi...Just want to send you a big hug my friend. Maybe "Old days cannot be replaced with light" but light can clear them away...
