The Dark

Things start getting creepy

In my bed when I get sleepy

Cause I hear, all the noise

In the attic filled with toys

I sometimes feel a spirit

And I swear, I really hear it

So I cover my head

With the sheets on by bed

I call for Mom and Dad

And I think I'm going mad

When they come to my door

But it's not them anymore

And as the door starts creaking

I can here the voices speaking

Like they're chanting a spell

What they say I can't tell

Louder they keep coming

In my head, I hear them drumming

Like the sound of hard rain

Till they drive me insane

Hi Jerry. I don't think we've met, but since I'm here, let me say I enjoy your poems. This one sure rings a bell. I've had many nights like it. A nice write. Peace. Mel :)
