The Damaged Teddy Bear

In a toy shop high on a shelf I sat as days went by Watching all my friends be bought As Christmas Eve drew nigh A damaged Teddy Bear was I Just waiting to be sold Though no one came to look at me As I sat alone and cold But as tiny tears fell from my eyes A fairy floated by And as she waived her pretty wand She said please don’t cry Santa Claus has sent me to find A special Teddy Bear For a little girl who asked for one In her bedtime prayer So on Christmas Eve tied with a bow Santa laid me by her side And when she awoke and looked at me Tears of joy she cried With her little arms around me I filled her heart with joy For I had so much love to give Though just a broken toy.
