The Consequence of We
I is such a small word, just a line between two points,
A measure with a limit to its distance.
WE becomes a structure formed of complimentary lines;
A framework giving meaning to existence:
Meaning to our heartbeat, meaning to our breath,
Meaning to the pain of birth and meaning to our death,
A reason and a purpose that define humanity
In the context of the consequence of WE.
I is such a small word standing plain and unadorned,
The TREE of LIFE stripped bare of all its branches.
WE becomes a landscape, vast horizons, verdant depths,
A forest where the human spirit dances:
Dances wild and joyous, dances proud and strong,
Dances with abandon while the songbirds chirp along.
A glorious example for the likes of YOU and ME
Fully conscious of the consequence of WE.
