The Colour That Is Yours
You could be emerald, rich and rare..
A living glow in open air.
A shade that dances in the light..
Soft as dawn or fierce as night.
Yet still be told you’re not quite right..
Not someone’s dream, not their delight.
Not flawed, not less, not incomplete..
Just not the tone they long to meet.
For some see oceans, endless blue..
And all their world is shaped by hue.
They’ll chase that tide, that quiet sea..
And miss the forest standing free.
But listen close and hear this truth..
It’s not a fault, nor lack, nor proof.
It isn’t worth that’s come undone..
It’s simply two not meant as one.
So don’t repaint your soul to please..
Or bend your roots to fit their breeze.
Don’t dim your fire, don’t lose your light..
To fit within another’s sight.
So stand in green.. untamed, alive..
The way you were designed to thrive.
And walk away from where you’ve been..
For someone out there loves your green.
