The Colors of Love

The Colors of Love

In between where trouble lies
As rain drops fall from sunny skies
A doorway between dark and light
The gateway is a lovely sight
Here beneath the rainbows gleam
We share our lives and share a dream
Red for the hearts that kindled the love
Blue for the endless like skies up above
Green for the garden where our family will grow
Yellow for sunbeams that come and that go
Orange for the sunsets that you and I share
Purple for the pain we both have to bear
Love's not always easy as you and I've learned
No matter how careful we seem to get burned
But don’t forget just how grand it can be
as we walk side by side toward eternity
