The Colors of Earth
I’ve seen a bit of Mother Earth
And have some thoughts, for what it's worth
The colors, wonderful palette
You fly above and can’t forget
The farmer fields of lime and silt
To sum it up – it’s one big quilt
Then steely blades of flowing creeks
And shiny snow of cold dark peaks
Red roofs of happy country homes
And sandy steppes where no one roams
The cotton of the fluffy clouds
You find them act as hilltop shrouds
The breathing oceans, navy blue
Them boats leave trails of minty hue
All shiny, sparkling parking lots
And saline-marshes greenish spots
Red rocks of Arizona hills
I love the color for it thrills
And glacier ice, of baby blue
Is eons old, but looks like new
Insanely twisted Russia’s land
You find it in Far Eastern end
Expanse of khaki, all at hand
It’s “no man’s land”, Newfoundland
All yellow roads that go nowhere
Grey thunder clouds fill the air
Mix of cement, of glass and metal
The stars, they leave the soul unsettled
The distant rain wall, ghostly white
A mantis lake, that is so bright
Love golden beaches, frothy waves
The summer treat, one of my “faves”
Night red and yellow vehicles’ tracks
Like diamonds shine to the max
Contrails are crossing big blue skies
For sure, “candy for the eyes”
Sunrise first pink on jets’ long wings
And bloody reds the evening slings
The silver power lines, they glow
Maize desert sands, in dunes they flow
The view is grand, but for a dove
What I described, seen from above
There is a lot we are missing out
On what our Earth is all about
There’s plenty more I haven’t seen
The planet’s life, it’s color green
And in the rat’s race, girl and boy
Find your own colors to enjoy
