The Colors In Me

The Colors In Me

I don’t often talk about how I feel,
I just go through life trying to keep it real.
Yet you touched me, and I didn’t see it coming,
You showed me attention and I was off and running.
I’m weighted down, yet I long to be free,
For you bring out the colors in me.

Your smile lights the way through each obstacle I pass,
Your words give me strength as I travel the path.
There’s no denying the effect you have on me,
The blinders are gone and I’m now willing to see.
The colors in me how they shine so bring,
You brought the sunshine in the darkest of night.

You set free a heart that was tied and blind,
You saw something that others couldn’t find.
My emotions explode whenever you’re near,
What made you take the time to care?
I’m weighted down, yet I long to be free,
For you bring out the colors in me.
