The Coldest Winter

each day I look into your eyes
and a stranger meets my gaze
slowly I've come to realize
there's nothing in that hazel haze
not a single trace of love
nor the slightest sliver of passion
only the cold push and shove
      of today's emotionless fashion
and the darkest storm cloud
settles heavily upon my heart
my grieving soul screams aloud
as the lightning of my love for you rips me apart

That is a pain that is hard to deal with, when that fire goes out and you feel the coldness seeping in, it is definitely the coldest winter. Nicely expressed Christy
