The Cloud and the Sea

The cloud was swollen and heavy Hanging loosely over the sea And the sea was quickly becoming wavy At the power of a violent breeze The cloud released a heavy pour down Of heavy torrents of rain That the sea received in a frown But the cloud couldn’t refrain The palm tree watched in awe At the scenes that unfolded Just a few miles off the shore “Stop it cloud” the palm tree scolded Then the cloud quickly retreated and disappeared, Leaving the sea in unease calm Then the bright sun broadly appeared Prompting the sea to smile at the palm

Ah, personification at her best; where an up-stander speaks to the bully, and the bully moves on. This is what I teach to children every opportunity I get, and I get a lot of them. Well done Eunice.
