THE CLOSER I GET TO GOD

the closer I get to God 
the more the adversary goes hard 
doing its best to disrupt my life 
as I elevate towards my Lord Christ 

I desire to talk the talk 
I aspire to walk the walk 
to step like my chosen Savior 
to strut with a christ-like behavior 

the closer I get to God 
the more the enemy tries to invade my heart 
with destructive tendencies 
to come between God and me 

I desire to talk the talk 
I aspire to walk the walk 
to step like my chosen Savior 
to strut with a christ-like behavior 

the Lord is never out of reach 
He promised if of Him we seek 
we will find and discover 
the unconditional love He has for all others 

draw closer to God and in Him rejoice 
let not the enemy come in to exploit 

desire to talk the talk 
aspire to walk the walk 
to step like your chosen Savior 
to strut with a christ-like behavior 

elevate, celebrate and resonate 
with the Lord God 
delegate, dedicate and venerate 
Him with your whole heart 

draw closer and you'll discover 
the unconditional love He has for all others

the more I need Him in my heart
