“In the cold embrace of death, we come to realize the fragility of human existence.” Unknown

                                     The Cold Embrace of Death

                            With my whole spine aching with pains
                                 I languish in the gloom of night,
                              Yearning to be freed from the chains
                                   Of the body holding me tight;

                                  My soul screams for liberation
                                From the bondage of human life
                                 For my journey`s termination,
                             With my days turned to a stiff strife.

                            Fate has dealt me some severe blows
                               Leaving me a storm-stricken soul
                               In the depth of the freezing snow
                                      Offering myself as a toll.

                              I have played my part on the stage
                           I`ve laid my bricks to shape the world
                             I`ve set my name on annals` page
                                 And the curtain is close to curl;

                               I have gazed at nature`s beauty
                         I have cherished spring`s flowers bloom
                                 I have performed all my duty
                            I have stared at stars and the moon;

                              I`ve wandered alone in the plains
                              I`ve walked in the wild wilderness
                                 I have shouted for help in vain
                                I`ve met waves of wickedness;

                            I have viewed the world`s delusion
                            I have sighted friends` callousness
                                I have perceived life`s illusion
                             I have witnessed man`s awfulness;

                             I`ve sighted sands of time slide by
                             I`ve beheld darkness shrouding me
                              I`ve seen souls soaring to the sky
                              I`ve sailed in squally stormy seas,

                            I have surveyed hills laid with thorns
                             I have glimpsed trees of my life bend
                                  I have endured many a storm
                                 My journey is close to its end.

                              The cold embrace of death for me
                              Doesn`t inspire any glimpse of fear,
                                   But for me is an ardent plea
                                That I yearn and is to me dear.
