The Climax of Loneliness

Loneliness is...
the greatest pain of all.
At its climax? Emptiness deeper
than oceans. Abject hopelessness.
One’s sanity becomes
an unsteady balance scale
tipping askew little by little.
Silence suddenly begins to scream.
Anxiety hisses like a snake
and spits its venom. Desperation gives birth
to panic. The lonely runs into every room,
yelling...
"Where did everyone go?"
"Can anyone hear me?"
