PART OF OUR CHRISTIAN witness in the world
To model the behavior of Jesus
We know all about this great acts of compassion and mercy
He taught us to be kind and forgiving
We know about turning the other check and loving our enemies
Rarely do we think of Jesus filled with anger
Acting on that anger as he does in the cleansing of the temple
It is never good to let our emotions get the best of us
To allow our anger free rein
But any devoted follower of Christ can
Should rise up in the face of defilement as Jesus did
When he drove the money changers from his Father’s house
Anger (like love) is a powerful God-given emotion to injustice
Where we need to be concerned
When our anger turns violent
Is confused with revenge
God of love and mercy, hear our prayers.
