The Circle of Life

Life is just a circle
Filled with many paths
Some people stroll along them
And others run so fast

Me? I am a runner
Dashing here and there
Always in hurry
To avoid my fear

But, you know, I think I’ve got it now
There is no need to fear
I’m learning to slow down my pace
And treasure what is here

Instead of my life passing me
In a vision of fog and haze
I’m taking much more pleasure
Embracing all my days

The future is uncertain
And really never seen
Too much time is lost
Thinking ‘bout what might have been

The part of most importance
Is the present, here and now
And I don’t want to waste it
I get the reason now!

A great philosophy to live by. You write with such wonderful rhyme and flow and you include a most important message. Thank you for your lovely comments, I appreciate it so much. Will not be on the site for a week or so, but I look forward to reading more of your poetry when I return. Love, Shar
