despite being in bondage
lost in the wilderness for years
despite being persecuted
and hounded by foolish fears
we've been appointed
we've been anointed
we have a godly vocation
we are His chosen generation
despite all that we have endured
God freely gave us His love
and so much more
we've been appointed
we've been anointed

we are His chosen generation
God is love
that's all He abides by
despite us being ourselves
He chose us to godly supply
He overlooked our mistakes
He forgave our sins
He chose us to be
His earthly children
we've been appointed

we are His chosen generation
It wasn't because we're so many
It's because we're so few
we are the chosen generation
He gave His love freely to
we've been appointed

He did not choose us for what we possess
He did not choose us based on our address
He did not choose us for our attitudes
He chose us simply
because of our gratitude
we've been appointed

He chose the few
He chose us that day
He looked beyond our sins
and gave us Yahweh
we've been appointed
