I hear them in the hall They are whistling and laughing School has not started yet These are the children Who are here early Who have been here for an hour The regulars who will not be whistling or laughing When they are the last ones picked up At six tonight

You know, for some kids who have a horrible homelife, this is probably good. I would have died of boredom by the end of the day. And when I got home I would have been a bear.

I know they like being here early, because they are privy to lots of teacher's conversations; teachers not noticing they are listening. But in the evenings they get tired of watching the other kids get to go home two hours earlier.
