Notes About The Poem
This poetry form is called a Naani. It is one of Indian's most popular poetic forms. It consists of 4 lines, the total lines consists of 20 to 25 syllables. The poem is not confined to a particular subject.
Naani was created by one of India’s foremost poets, Dr. N Gopi, who hails from the Teluga region in southern India.
The Child Laughs
It's not a snowman,
It's a snow person.
The child laughs with delight;
Throws a snowball at me.
