The Cherishing
If we leave,
we, in turn, will be left behind.
Some call it growth; some call it the karmic path of life.
We used to care for our elders
now they're quickly tossed aside
to live alone in bluish silence
or with indifference by their side.
They have a million stories and lessons
behind those opaque eyes...
nobody cared enough to cherish wisdom
so it was buried by winter's tide.
If we leave,
we in turn will be left behind.
