The Cheater
Past the corridor in that dark temple of doom,
long after when he should have been at home,
inside he frolics with his young, lusty mistress,
borne by the darkness that is their sole witness.
Oh the fire that the night itself cannot extinguish,
youthful flame that will not simply fade or vanish;
and the dawn breaks with his conscience pricked,
yet the game must continue while the hours ticked.
