The Chase

It is love for Venus that gives Mars the chase,
Attracted to her by an unseen force.
She refuses him and so sets the pace
As the two describe their celestial course.

Tonight, it seems, they will finally embrace
It appears as if he has won her heart.
Though closer now, almost face to face
They are still millions of miles apart.
