The Changing World
As I look at the world what shall become of the poor
I know that things can’t be like they were before
But where you live shouldn’t determine if you die
My heart goes out for all those tears cried.
I wonder if any one of us really can change
I view change in myself and it feels quite strange
I feel like the same person in different shoes
I wonder how long I shall have to pay for the clues?
Is there anybody out there to hear my voice?
I know that I will always have to make a choice
But what you didn’t hear may get you in the end
All that you see is a result of what you send.
Colors splash against my black and white
What appeared as darkness now is light
Everything you see and everything you do
All join together and become part of you.
I look for answers yet come up with none
Still I prefer to stand in the warmth of the sun
What good are the questions if the answers aren’t right
What good is the sun if you can’t see the light.
The sunset comes and I shall retire
I find comfort here beside the fire
You can’t change anything if you really don’t try
You can’t see the truth if you live in a lie.
