A beautiful cedar developed easily, Planted in my garden so peacefully. A striking exemplar in deep verdant green. Keeps my delightful backyard nice and clean. Reddish scented tall upright virgin wood One needs to study its habit and understood. No one should think of pruning without learning One must be sage and be more discerning. Evergreen framework, growing highly incensed, An unpleasant-tasting resin, a squirrel’s defence. Pollination takes place in Autumn, Until Summer cones shed their blossom. Rustic stance to universal view wonderful Look, is not the garden now more colourful? How tall it grows, how fragrant is its bark And yet beneath its branches, it’s cool and dark Contest Alpha Lines Sponsored by Joseph May 27 July 2021

I love cedars, have a nice red one in my backyard; I also lost one a few years back and kept some of the wood for carving. Beautifully penned and leaves the reader feeling great.

Victor I love this poem and I simply adore trees, bare or covered in leaves, silent they stand, so much they hear and see, yet secrets are safe with them, they’re discreet… Belle

I can assure you I had to write it over two days and research a bit too. I have never seen a cedar in my life.
