The Cave Shelters Me

When I was little,
Escape remittal
I could hide in a cave
But the danger was grave

It was just in my head
The fear of the dread,
I didn't know
The cave was not my foe

I feared the thing that sheltered us
The thing that made us live
I should not have made a fuss
Fearing the thing that gives

I hid in a tree
And fell on my knee
I broke a bone
But hated the unknown

But now I know
The cave shelters me
Without it I'd simply die.

I am sorry. I am running into writer's block.

.... Don't say that, fellow Poet! Practice is perfection, certainly!... We never apologise for being hungry, needing to eat three meals... If an apple is there, eat it...
