The Cat That Left

The Cat That Left...

My inner being went away,
When you suddenly died that
Saturday.

You magnificent Tortie, made of God's colors,
Left me, your cat Mother,
to be with your brothers.

You had been my companion
for fourteen years.
Now...leaning over your dead body, under a waterfall of my
hot tears.

I pick you up and cradle you
in my arms,
Though dead, oh, how so alive
your charms.

That long multi soft colored fur still glowing in death,
Oh, God, much to beautiful to forget.

I placed my dead, blind cat on
a big soft chair,
And flowers from my garden with great affection, I placed
ever so softly there.

I thanked God for having her.
Blindness and Beauty all
wrapped in feline fur.

My God! How I loved her!

In Memory of Luvey.

Once again, we match in our feelings for beings. I too have had many cats in my long life and the grief of their passings never stopped me from saving another kitten to give it the life it deserved until that time came again. The joy of campanionship is worth the pain.

Irene has legs like a Rockette! She lies here with those gams crossed over each other. Gorgeous. And she is statuesque. Like you, always getting a new partner when one leaves. Oldest one, was 24.5 as I told Caren in comment below. Thank you for posting. Gives me much energy. Love, Panagiota

Caren, I can relate to that passion and inability on you daughters part to not even tell you. My first cat, honest to God, Caren, lived with me 24.5 years. She fell out of a four story window onto cement. She limped a bit. But on taking her to the vet, found she had cracked her palate open. So, do not believe cats fall and don't get injured, thank you. Luvey sounds wonderful, and magical like Peppers, my daughter's cat she had for 18.5 years. She got her when she was 12, and we kept Peepers while she served 4 years in the service. We did not know she had passed for months, for our daughter could not bear to say it aloud. So sorry, Panagiota, I know she is watching you from her heavenly seat.

So sorry about your loved one; it's painful to lose a pet that has given one so much in it's lifetime. Beautiful tribute to your cat friend and family member.

Thank you for relating to this. A cat dropping dead at my feet almost was overwhelming, I assume you have a cat? Is that he or she in the picture? If so, looks like the twin of my current house member, Thank you Panagiota Comments move me forward like a wave. Otherwise, I feel like stopping,
