The Candle Or the Wick
Are you the candle or just the wick.
I taste the kerosene heavy upon your lips.
I've been in your shoes once or twice before.
Watching the wax collect slowly as it hits the floor.
In the pit of your stomach do you now feel sick.
Your not the candle, just burning down like the wick.
I've seen how you act, I know what you believe.
You can't fool me with those tricks, hidden up your sleeve.
I've seen your self serving smile, when others were in pain.
I watched you turn your back, I know you will reap the day.
So i guess I'll break this down, slowly brick by brick.
Someone strike a match for there's kerosene upon her lips.
So now that you have been spotted, how will you carry on.
Will you change or live undaunted, the hell with who you wrong.
I tell you I changed when I was there, cut down to the bone.
Experience is in my words, I say your at the top yet all alone.
Don't take to much time with your decision.
The wax left there isn't thick.
I've tried to be helpful and a voice of reason.
Shall I light the match to burn the wick.
