The Cameo Necklace
The Cameo Necklace
Slight, delicate thing you are.
Strangely simple, strangely plain.
I hold you, and I Reminisce;
About the laughter and the pain.
Picture of an Ivory lady;
A bit of gold surrounds the glass.
Cold, cold glass surrounds the Ivory.
And the years pass oh so fast.
Slight, tiny thing it is;
A little larger than a tear.
Time fades away as I remember.
And I know he is not here.
Lovely little Golden barbal.
I hold it now with no regret.
Memories step quietly forward.
The song has ended, story set.
Shiny little golden necklace.
Makes me think of choices made.
Pretty little Ivory lady.
I face my future unafraid.
