The Camel Train Vision
The heat shimmered on the horizon
As the dust devils danced across the desert zone
Our car was placed in four wheel drive
As we traveled on in an effort to stay alive
The dirt road stretched in a straight line ahead
On the gun barrel highway in a heat to dread
Then I saw a camel train in a dust drenched race
The camels walking across seemed out of place
As I drew nearer the camels started to fade
I saw one Afghan have a look of being afraid
And at that point the train shimmered away
How they came to be there that day I couldn’t say.
