The Call

The Call…

Pain answered the call
you never returned;
Happiness took a dive—fell
into a junkyard of despair—leaving;
Left a broken heart behind
                         With
Streaming threads of tears through eyes
of rusty needles of grief
to mend itself—

And you have the audacity:
(to ask)
What’s love got to do with you and me!
