The Call
The Call
It's late at night
As I'm in my bed
Thinking about our fight
Not wanting to be alone
All of a sudden I hear a ring
From my phone
And what you say
Sends chills through my bones
I'm sorry
I love you
Please forgive me
I know what I said was wrong
Sorry I took so long
To make amends
Can we just act like it was all pretend
I just wanted to say this
That is all
The reason why I made this call
Shocking to hear those words
To come from your mouth
I guess we're taking turns
Saying what's on our minds
And now I guess it's mine
I'm sorry
And I love you too
I'm lost without you
I take back what I said
I hope it never happens again
We've made amends
But I think it may be best
If we just stay friends
That is all
Do you regret making this call?
The reply
Sent shivers down my spine
No regrets, But I want us to be more
And for you not to shut the door
You are what makes my world go 'round
You keep me up
Without you I would fall to the ground
I will give us another chance
Because through this fight
Our love has been enhanced
Thank you for calling me
To tell me this so late at night
Now I can sleep soundly
Go to bed my darling
And sleep tight
For we shall meet in our dreams tonight
