The Butterfly

The butterfly soars
Beyond the azure fields
And opens doors
past ancient battlefields

To the roaring sea
It can’t come close
To the butterfly, it's agony
Because it knows

There is a new world
Waiting to be discovered
As the raging sea swirled.
the notes were heard

The sea stilled
And the butterfly took its chance
As the music trilled
It began to advance

Plunging in, vivid ideas came to life
Things it never thought before
Words that described the strife
So much that it had to ignore

The music slowly came to a close
And the butterfly was saddened
Reluctantly it arose

Slightly disheartened
as the waters began to churn
It flew to the azure meadow
Where it would yearn
To go
To the creative sea
The only place it feels free
