Notes About The Poem

The Bruised Bird

The child came with imploring words,
could I help this poor bruised bird?

There was no rhyme to help at all,
my words slammed into a glass wall~

as did the small yellow bird,
it needed a reflection to be heard.

No, child, I cannot help the poor dead bird,
I will use its feathers to write my words.
