The Broken Heart

I fight off the shadows, that feed off my heart, they bite it and scratch it, they tear it apart I grab some pieces, and put them together, they go in my chest, and they stay there forever I look for more pieces; they're all through the world, they can only be replaced, by the love of a girl but i'm still lonely and my heart is still bare, I scream and I cry, but no one does care Untill the girl walks up, her love I can taste, she looks at me, with a smile on her face She says she loves me, and that I believe, now my heart will be whole for eternity

I like the first stanza most because I have struggled with the same thing...I wrote a poem called "Questions" I think is the title...how questions and thoughts will ravish you and overpower you...consuming...anyways...I can relate...well done :) Shauna
