The Bridge Days Parade

Never could use a parade
to show my selfhood's wares.
Seems thoughtless but to preen & prance
to rows of eyes with stares.

But on a clear day, naught before
so softly do advance,
as with a simple truth do score
humility's enhance.

And some days, I do walk a shore,
of river bottomed chance,
for hours, to gather my implore
through wildflower's wondrous stance!

And catch a creature scurrying
away from my steps branch.
The thought will come, my mind will hum -
...so poet's line their spans!
