sweet smell of her envy perfume
drowned that stench of betrayal play
stygian smile blurred by church-white veil
her heart habitually astray

A gripping poem, that's so well written; the tale of marriage beginning on a sad note. I hope your day is wonderful, Thriveni.

I don't usually write on dark-themes dear friend, this is my first try for poet Suzette Richards's prompt of 'The Bride Trilogy' contest. Human psyche is unfathomable. Thank you for the kind visit and blessings, your visit means so much to me. thank you.

Very descriptive and expressive, Thriveni. Lord help the man who marries such a woman! Janice

This is my first such dark-write dear friend, I usually don't walk into dark emotions, I wrote this for poet Suzette Richards's prompt of 'The Bride Trilogy'. Tough one though, gave it a try. Thank you for your kind visit and precious time dear poet. Cheers
