The Bride To Her Future Groom

Oh, how I have dreamt
Of the day we would gaze
Into each other's eyes
Amidst lights and love and lace,

I am but a gentle lass
Praying to whatever god above
That someday, someday would show
Me true, genuine love.

May you, good, beautiful lad
Of whatever look or colour
Be the prince I'd dreamt of
Long ago in sweet, blazing fervour;

May you hold me as you would
A sweet lily in full bloom
And with love in each word, whisper,
"Darling, I am your awaiting groom. . ."
