The Bread and the Blood

The Bread and the Blood

the bread
the body of
Christ, beaten and tortured
disfigured, His likeness marred
for me

the blood
flowing freely
from His hands, feet and side
cleansing me and washing away
my sin

both are
symbols of life
that by His death He has
set me free so that I can live
again

Amen, Oliver! We are washed and forgiven by the blood of the lamb into a life we could never have imagined as Christ lives in us. Sending you blessings for this simple, yet elegant, statement of faith.
