The Book

Each life has its own story to tell
Like when the day faints, the stars shine
Or when the sun rests in bed and sunset conquers for a while
Or when the day is gloomy, the heaven cries
And when the star falls---
   we utter requiescat in pace

Jenna welcomed the sunrise as she opened her eyes
She turned to her wristwatch as she was about to rise
The time said "6:59", she doesn't mind
'Tis an ordinary day nor one of a kind

She walked not hastily towards the door
She left the room with eyes half-closed
But eyes widened when darkness is not yet o'er
She turned back but her room was gone
Then a sudden devilishly evil laugh shattered her very soul
She opened her eyes once more but to lean on the wall
About the place she ought to know
When she stepped her feet forward the wind blew so cold

Six steps and she suddenly held her breath
That growled from her back tells her she'll be a bread
She was shaking but she chose to face
She felt like ice as to the wild beast's gaze
And her 'tabunon' skin turned pale
Dangerous, deep red eyes are burning flames
Finger and toe nails are blades
Those hungry fangs are about to claim
Her young but poor body like a crunchy shrimp
But she bet herself no adieu to this nemesis
Like a marathon she did

And so much passages to drop by!
Right or left, both have signs
Strange writings man cannot define
Oh, poor life! no time to think twice
Here comes her nemesis and she wished she bears nine lives

Oh, sweat my ever second skin!
Feel the warmth of my shattered body and frozen veins!
And these tears now I taste
This ain't wonderland nor I'm Alice
And knees I plead not to faint
I'm lost and stuck in this--- oh, labyrinth!

But to her horror her feet collapsed
The next thing she learned she kissed on the ground
It takes a cacophonous moment to burn her down
But then she exclaimed her only hope and the wild beast howled
The wild beast but passed her and entered a fire abyss
She witnessed and hers was a picture of perfect astonishment

Though still trembling she searched for her pulse
She took a deep breath and tears again poured
She reminisced her almost downfall
She bears no cat's life but she just received a miracle!
She raised her head up high in gratitude
And for a minute the darkness fleets in full force

She dried her tears and resumed her journey
Inside this labyrinth, oh, so dreary!
She wandered and wondered what brought her there
Perhaps this is a long nightmare...
