The Boat of Sadness
Hardship is a ship
that sails from peer to peer
it stop at every port;
unloads buckets full of misfortune and fear.
It dumps on tons pain
and pounds of suffering and strife.
It heaps on masses of agony
and enough anguish to last for life.
It unloads a gram of compassion,
just to build up your trust.
Then it piles on more grief and worry,
and scores of sorrow and lust.
The hardship is a ship
that travels far and near,
with its' bounteous cargo,
in stormy weather or clear.
