The Blues

When I was little I really loved music,
Was joyous to hear and therapeutic.
My mother would put on rock and roll,
My father would share opera and soul.
T'was special to me and
What I liked to choose,
Was spiritual music, traditional blues.
Though some may relay the blues are so tragic,
Suggesting here- you listen to magic.
How it touched my heart with all of the woos,
God given rhythm, Long live the blues.
