The Blood of Passion

I don't need to hide in shame I have no fear to be known Free to think and feel as I please My soul belongs to me, it's mine... alone I'll write the thoughts as they come I don't care what eyes might read I see the truth all around me I'll take off the band-aid and let myself... bleed Trapped in the promise of forever Just the thought, suffocates my breath I fall in the trance of predictable Insanely struggling to escape my... death Motionless I sit in darkness I've learned not to feel, not a thing Hardened I'm cold and I'm dormant No longer a person, now just a... thing Through the shadows of his own being A light escapes from within Shines so bright it blinds me with clarity The truth that will lead me to... sin His hands rip into my flesh He digs deeper and grasps onto my soul He pulls it to his lips and he tastes me His whispers erase all self... control He walks through my mind with his words And he leaves his writing on my wall I want you, Your mine, Your beautiful I love you, I miss you, please...call The hands that grasp my neck now ease I feel the release and gasp out loud I run to escape any relapse From the dead love, that to me was... vowed I fall into the arms that sway Unsure of where I might land Eyes closed so the world won't see They open too soon, and are stung with... sand I try to cleanse my soul from the evil I feel Satan he's under my skin Planting himself in my dark places Taking over me with a hypnotic...grin A rush of cold chills my veins As thoughts swarm through my head A promised love of forever Exchanged for hands that are now stained... red I reverse the puzzle, piece by piece Unravelled, it all makes sense So clear becomes the picture Emotions echo through my mind so... intense Reality snaps back, I awaken No longer on the verge of death My soul now bleeds out passion So my inspiration is now laid to...rest

Here it is Sunday and the begining of a new week is upon us. And August is leaving us way to soon. I am enjoying reading such excellent poems today and am happy to see your poetry among them Angela. May your pen forever flow. Love, Carol
