The Blizzard and the City
THE BLIZZARD AND THE CITY
The wind-blown snow went whirling by!
The drifts piled up so very high!
The avenue was changed to a rural road.
The pines could hardly bare their load.
The city vanished under a blanket of snow.
A village appeared - but soon began to grow!
The snowplows came to clear away the snow.
The village died - victim of a mechanical foe!
But for a very brief interval of time,
Peace and beauty covered the city of crime.
As if the only cure for mankind’s plight
Is nature’s coverlet of purest white!
