The Black African

Black is my identity, I'm found in the black of existence black bushy hair, black the color of my skin. Beautified to this black at birth I rise this black to the height of colors , I rise this black to the height of races I am the black African blessed black by the mighty hand of creation, distinctively woven into the tapestry of humanity for the beauty of its countenance, I rise this black to the height of colors i rise this black to the height of races After all, is this blackness not to be flaunted on a day like this? Today , tomorrow and forever the morrow I am the black African strumming a tune that echoes in the wilderness of Africa to the affirmation of our being Found in the black of existence, I am the black African from my mbira player playing a rhythm that denounces the follies of our barbarism behold i say top a fellow black African; the black of our skin looks best at its pristine, the black in us feels sweet without hate We can rise above xenophobia and civil wars Indeed i say in the ways of love and unity this blackness is the greatest taste of Africa. Black is our identity together we can fight poverty and diseases ashore Black bushy hair , black the color of our skin beautified to this black at birth We can rise this black to the height of colors, We can rise this black to the height of races Behold i say blackness was born in us to be celebrated, It is to be flaunted on a day like this Today , tomorrow and forever the morrow.
